Making our way home...

So on this holiday, we got to walk on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean, spend time with our friends, eat lots of sushi at the famous local sushi bar near the yatch club (where we stayed for the first 10 days), go to Calvary Chapel, and a special time of worshipping God in a stadium of 10 thousand people - for 2 nights in a row! This was a different kind of holiday, and it was very refreshing to our soul. We were very blessed.

It was quite fun to drive home too and see the country. From orange groves to rolling hills of Georgia to the famous Smokey Mountains (and listening to blue grass driving through was precious) and to the open country of the Dakotas. During this trip, Rowena played LOTS of chess on the nokia and gained a slight addiction - finally winning her first gave vrs the computer after 16 hours (not straight playing time!). The road kills started out as squashed armadillos and turtls, to more furry creatures the further north we drove (interesting observation huh?).

We also watched "the Dog Whisperer" every chance we got because we were missing Noa very very much.

here's the truck probably at a Denny's (they have internet access in the restaraunt!) somewhere in Georgia or Tenessee. And here is the truch again in Minot, North Dakota - just south of the border to HOME!

Florida #2

We were too late to get in to the Kennedy Space Centre, so we wandered around the grounds...

Florida April-May 2008

Andrew and I flew to Florida in April and drove back up in a TRUCK! Yes, we now have Toyota Tacoma and I am enjoying it very much. It is the perfect vehichle for northern Saskatchewan.

Here are some photo's of our time in Florida.

Cake - from last October

The kids learning to decorate an angel foodcake with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries :-) We are celebrating Rowena's cousin Jonathan's birthday, and Andrew's new Citizenship.

> We took the children out to the park for some sledding - and Andrew and I went down the hill a couple of times too. Here they are, all bundled up!

Noa in December

At 2 years and 8 months, Noa seems to have settled at 85lbs - a giant lap dog without a mean bone in her soft fluffy body. She wants to be everyones friend, and most of the other dogs she sees, but the small ones are scared of her and she knows who the mean ones are and makes sure they keep away. Here are more of the many expressive faces of Noa...

Our little home...

We moved in October - again! We now live in a 2 storey town house affectionately called 'the 13 plex' for government employees. It's 1 block from the lake, which we can see from one of the rooms on the 2nd floor. The back of the property is completely fenced so Noa has lots of wandering space. Lately though, she really enjoys cuddles on the sofa. We have to teach her not to do this to anyone else because we recently had our new pastor and his wife over for dinner one night and Noa shamelessly edged herself on to their laps.

This is Christmas in our little home :-)

December in Northern Saskatchewan

Rowena had to work on the 24th and 27th, so we spent Christmas in Buffalo Narrows. There were lots of activities to celebrate the season and lots of Turkey dinners and potlucks too. It was a great chance to catch up with friends. Then on the 28th we loaded up the subaru and headed to Saskatoon to spend the remainder of the holiday season with Rowena's family.

Photos:
> We invited our neighbor over (the Environmental Health Officer for the Region) for Christmas Eve dinner of roast lamb and veggies.
> Christmas day at the Balzers. See the snow on their roof? It looks like icing on the roof of a gingerbread house :-)
